Now Open in Ascot!
Our teachers, Miss Channy, Miss Bree and Miss Brooke met because of physie. Best friends for many years. All different ages, but share one particular thing in common - a love of physie. This foundation has led to a friendship that spans too many years to count. In December 2017, Miss Channy, Miss Bree and Miss Brooke decided to go out on their own venture together and start Harbourside Physie & Dance... with one particular purpose in mind - to open and create an environment that was welcoming, supportive and had a friendly atmosphere, encouraging a high level of spirit and culture. A place where juniors can meet forever friends and seniors can share an extra curricular activity that provides them joy and where our ladies can have a bit of fun mid-week.
At Harbourside Physie & Dance, we strive to create a friendly, supportive and positive culture for girls and women to be a part of each week. We hope to inspire our members to challenge themselves both physically and mentally to be the best versions of themselves, celebrating both personal and club successes along the way. Our team of teachers bring a wealth of expertise in the sport of Physie with a combined 60+ years experience between them. Collectively they have gained numerous Top 6 national placings in their Physie careers including a number of National Champion titles.
We believe in working TOGETHER to achieve our goals and encourage an environment that is purely empowered by PASSION. We encourage our students to not compare themselves with one another but to CHALLENGE their own individual abilities and to CELEBRATE all achievements.
At Harbourside Physie and Dance, we follow the Australian Physie and Dance Association (APDA) syllabus, offering students a challenging and rewarding dance experience. Each year, we introduce exciting new choreography designed to build self-esteem, self-confidence, and sportsmanship, while also improving physical fitness, flexibility, and coordination. Physie is not just about movement—it helps establish correct posture and technique, fostering discipline and determination in a supportive, fun environment. Our dance classes promote a strong sense of community, enhance social skills, and offer a great way to connect with others.
APDA is an innovative Physie association established in 2012, created to bridge the gap between traditional Physie and contemporary dance styles. Physie is a unique dance sport for girls and women of all ages, combining a variety of dance genres into one exciting class. Our program incorporates elements of Ballet, Modern Dance, Contemporary, Pilates, Gymnastics, and Lyrical, giving students the opportunity to develop a broad range of technical and expressive skillswhile having fun and gaining a deeper appreciation for dance as an art form.
Whether you're a beginner with no previous dance experience or someone looking to return to a fun and recreational dance sport, Physie is the perfect choice. Join the most progressive Physie and dance club in the Wynnum, Manly, and Ascot area and discover why our students love to dance!
